Carl Rovainen and Crew
were the only musicians who braved the cold. But hardly
anyone sang along: Art Walkers rather went inside for
entertainment, hors d' oeuvres, and wine in the various
venues.
|

Scott Grave's drum circle also moved inside, into the temporary
quarters of the Cabaret, where Bette Sherbourn had a one-woman
show. Thank you, Brian Scott, for letting us use the room,
a typical Bohemian setting.

At Wright's frame and art

all ages love it. I even saw some guys applauding.

The Limericists under Lynn
Guild talk 'duck talk' in the PILOT conference room. This
inner sanctum of the local newspaper was opened to Art Walkers
for the first time in the history of Brookings' 2nd Saturday
Art Walk. Christina Olsen was the featured artist. Way to
go, Charlie.

The Rogue River Jam came
all the way from Gold Beach to entertain Art Walkers at
Manley Art Center. Sharon Guinn and Jan Burris sing harmony
as clean and crisp as angels (at least that's how I envision
angels sing, although I never heard one and likely never
will).

The finishing touch of this Art Walk was in the library:
Brookings' own concert pianist Christy Dolan played selections
from the concert she is going to give on October 19th
at 3 PM for the Friends of Music. Want to know more about
that performance? Call 469-4243, 469-7625, or 469-7104,
and they'll tell you all about it.
Tune
in again toward the end of September for the program of
the October 9 Art Walk.
