The 11 November Art Walk – Report by Horst

After a week of rain, Saturday evening cleared up and we had fine fine weather for the 2nd Saturday Art Walk. I was the featured artist at Words and pictures with my latest show "Musical Instruments and Similar Machinery." As a result I had no time to go around shooting pictures, nor was I lucky to enlist someone else to do it for me - with a digital camera. So I paid a short visit to the closest galleries before the Art Walk. Plus what I shot at Words and Pictures is what you see this month.

For this reason some great events are missing from this report, such as the trombone/violine interlude at the library, Garetta's demo at Manley, Ronn Johnson and Sons at Terra Cotta Corners, and some others. That's the way the ball bounces. Will please someone step forward and be the Art Walk reporter, design a dedicated Art Walk website, write a little report such as you're reading here - hopefully better - every month, and keep the website up! I can't be at more than one place at a time.

Anyway, from what I heard and from what I observed myself, it was one of the best Art Walks ever. Music and food everywhere, lots of special events, even a bus coming from Crescent with a load of Art Walkers from California, a new gallery opening: An Eye for Art right next to JTo Prints and Signature gallery. They specialize in contemporary art, paintings and pottery.

That's all the words I have for you this time. I am too tired, so I let you look at the pictures.

By the way, remember the TV crew we had walk around at the October Art Walk? Within a week - so Candice tells me - you will see a 30 minute Art Walk movie on KBSC-TV (under new ownership) , and soon after a disk will be available for about $20 to see the same thing - and more - on your own TV at home.

Tune in again around the end of November and you'll find the program for the December Art Walk.
Horst,
